Does anyone know of any home tooth whitening treatments that might
really work for badly discolored teeth?..I know professional treatment
is the best way to go but untill I save enough I`d like to at least
accomplish something..Thanks |

I think it depends on the nature of the stain. If you have significant
external stains on the outside surfaces of the teeth (like the kind that
builds up with cigarette smoking or tea/coffee/etc), then you might want to
brush your teeth periodically with something more abrasive. I like to
suggest mixing a bit of baking soda with your toothpaste. However, if the
stains are not surface but internal (within the tooth), you could try an
over-the-counter whitening kit from the drug store and follow the
directions, but my experience is that they are inadequate most of the time.
Most people have a combination of both types of stain, but the older we get,
generally, the more yellow our teeth become due to internal staining. Hope
this helps.
