Hi all,
I have been looking for a way to do a survival analysis with the
following conditions:
1) competing risks
2) recurrent events
3) with both time-dependent and time independent covariates
I have gotten as far as modeling a counting process for recurrent
events with time-dependent and time independent covariates using R. I
also read about how to model competing risks, but cannot find a method
to do all three. Is there hope?
Here's a short description of the kind of data I want to analyze:
Say I have observations on the behavior of snakes attacking mice that
can defend themselves. I want to know whether defenses of the mice
(e.g. bites) affect the snakes attack success. I thought of setting up
successful and failed attacks as competing risks that are recurrent
(over many attacks), and the mouse biting events as a time dependent
covariate (with other time-dependent and time-independent events).
Perhaps I am way off? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
