Post-doctoral research position available at the
Wire Communications Laboratory, University of Patras, Greece
Deadline for applications -- May 26th, 2008
The Wire Communications Laboratory (WCL) - Artificial Intelligence Group at
the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept., University of Patras, Greece
(http://www.wcl.ece.upatras.gr/) offers a 12 month post-doctoral fellowship
starting from June 1st 2008.
The fellowship program is supported by the EC project: Prediction and
Interpretation of Human Behaviour using Probabilistic Structures and
Heterogeneous Sensors - PROMETHEUS.
Essential Responsibilities:
a.. to lead a RTD team working on image/video processing and heterogeneous
data fusion,
b.. to work closely with PhD students and developers, and put into
practice the research results,
c.. to manage the project-related activities.
Mandatory Requirements:
a.. PhD degree in the area of image/video processing,
b.. proven research experience,
c.. sound background on statistical modelling, machine learning and data
mining techniques,
d.. experience in international RTD projects,
e.. strong communication and collaboration skills,
f.. fluency in English,
g.. fluency in C/C++
Upon admission, the prospective fellow will spend at least 12 months,
working at University of Patras campus, Greece. The contract could be
extended for 3 years or more, depending on the progress indicators of the
team he\she leads.
Researchers from all over the world are invited to apply for this position.
Scientists from the new EU Member States, or scientists originating from
counties outside the European Union and are especially encouraged.
