Does there exist a DIP8 single opamp (TL071/NE5534 pattern) capable of
driving a 50 ohm load while still being usable on +/- 15 volt rails
(cuts out video opamps). Trying to beef up the headphone drive of an
old Neve mixer without hacking it in any way (ie adding in current
follower transistors etc).

Depends on how many volts you need into 50ohms. Calculate the
dissipation inside the chip carefully or it'll smoke out. 50ohms is
tough. Some will do it even if not mentioned but don't push it too far
in amplitude or phssst ... BANG.

There are fast opamps that can operate on +/-15V such as the THS4021
which I recently used:

This one does video speeds with ease. But be careful, it must be
operated at gains of 10 or higher.

Certainly none that I know of. Which Neve mixer is this btw ?

If you sum two channels of a 600 ohm drive chip, you can drive about 300 ohms.

If you can turn a SOIC into a DIP take a look at the TI audio headphone
amplifier chips. There are some 8 pinned ones but in another package.
These things must require some type of cooling ?

Most of those I was looking at are low voltage. What chip is in it now ?
Check out a TLE2061AIP
