Once again they manage to break what should not be breakable.
I am starting to think it is a campaign by earthlink to drive people
away from usenet.
Every time my newsreader tries to fetch articles, all I get are server
errors.
What fun.
Now I get to chat with a nice person in the Phillipines about a piece
of the internet that they have never heard of.
WEEEEE!!!! |

I gave up on my ISP news server and now use news.individual.net which
seems a good service. It costs 10 Euros p.a. If you want a free
service try aoie.net. I used it for a while but reliability was a
problem sometimes.

Might not be your ISP's fault . There is DDoS attack going on , some friends
have a server in Wa. that's down . Seems they bombard a selected server or
servers with requests until it's clogged with traffic or it crashes .

My ISP had troubles for a while. Yesterday they were supposed go with a new news server and things *seem* to be better for now. Don't know how long it will last. |

--FWIW Sonic.net is solid and they're one of the few ISPs to support
'shell' so I get direct connection to usenet without any intervening web
crap, which means it loads reeeeally fast and search is effortless. Oh, and
you can write killfiles too, bwahaha.
