For those who are looking for some relief.

Major Movie on EFT Just Released to Public

Maybe you saw the film crew of the just-released documentary movie,
Try It On Everything, as they darted from place to place at the Dallas
EFT conference last year. I didn't happen to because I didn't attend
that meeting! But the movie's creator-producer Nick Ortner, and his
photographer-director Nick Polizzi, and his untiring organizing
manager Jessica Maya Ortner were unobtrusively collecting film clips
of important people in the EFT world at that conference. These film
makers were virtually unknown at that point, something that will not
be the case much longer however.

Try it Productions, as their company is called, has just accomplished
the seeming impossible. On a tiny budget, armed only with an
overwhelming belief in the value of EFT and deep enthusiasm for the
project, this team of young people has put together a film that could
scarcely have been expected at this point in EFT history. The
question to be answered is -- can EFT effectively be introduced with a
minimum of fanfare and yet become completely believable as a technique
to a movie audience who does not know EFT and get them to remain
totally involved in the movie for an hour and 20 minutes?

It seemed doubtful this could be done, but -- it has been. I have had
a chance to view several versions of this movie in different stages of
its production and I've just watched the final version as it has
emerged with a smoothness born of care, skill and professionalism.
The film does everything it set out to do.

Now available to the public as a DVD, the movie depicts a 4-Day EFT
Retreat attended by ten people who did not know EFT beforehand. They
had been carefully chosen from among more than a hundred applicants
because of their high degree of motivation and the intrinsic interest
of their conditions -- all very serious ones.

At the beginning of the movie we see these participants in their own
homes as they prepare for the Retreat. They have no idea what to
expect but are showing excitement mingled with apprehension as they
face the unknown. All of them have agreed to allow cameras to follow
them around 24 hours a day for the duration of the four days of the
retreat. They are going to be filmed continuously during that time -
but only a tiny portion of the footage, of course, will be used in the
actual film. The filming will be in group sessions, in private
sessions, and occasionally they will be permitted to have an interview
with an EFT practitioner without a camera present. It will be a tight
knit community for these four days.

As the experiment begins, we (as the camera) are "there" to greet each
participant as they arrive at the retreat, to get to know their story
and find out their reason for being present, their fears and hopes.
Then we watch the challenges they face as they begin to use EFT under
the guidance of the EFT practitioners. Among the several
practitioners who participate in the movie is EFT Master Carol Look,
whom many of you know as a major figure in the EFT world. She plays a
prominent role as "herself" here as well as being one of the
commentators in the film.

As we watch, EFT practitioner Rick Wilkes ably teaches EFT right on
the spot (in front of the cameras) as the audience watches. It is
taught only in a very basic fashion, of course, and the participants
follow along with tapping. Theoretically a person viewing the movie
could learn the basics of EFT and at least get started from watching
this film. They would of course need more detailed instruction later
but this could get them get off to a start. There is a homespun
informal nature to the teaching which is heartening. It is happening
with real people, real problems, and strong emotions and we see the
situation unfold before our eyes.

The documentary is structured so that it is a teaching vehicle without
in any way being stiff or forbidding in its approach. Various
luminaries who are familiar names to the general public appear
throughout the film as commentators and teachers. They explain the
various principles of energy psychology, of EFT and even of basic
psychology itself as they emphasize to the audience the importance of
early childhood experience in determining our adult lives. Their
interspersed comments are put together in such a fashion that each
person seems to be continuing the same talk as the former one, with
each person's comments leading smoothly into the next person's, in a
seemingly effortless job of editing.

The experts who explain the basics of EFT briefly and lucidly are well-
known to most of us. From the EFT community we see Carol Look, Carol
Tuttle, Rick Wilkes, Brad Yates, David Rourke, and myself. The
broader Energy Psychology community is represented impressively as we
watch Dr. Joseph Mercola of alternative health fame talk with
conviction about the value and workings of EFT. Dr. Fred Gallo, a
long time scholar and expert in the field of Energy Psychology
describes the process itself, and Dr. Dawson Church, a prominent
researcher in the field of energy psychology and author of the book
The Genie In Your Genes (which I reviewed some months ago for Gary
Craig's list -- a superb book on the energy psychology movement and a
fine exposition of EFT). We are then joined by the major pioneer in
pain control in the United States, Norman Shealy, M.D. who tells us
much about energy psychology, and by the leading gene biologist Dr.
Bruce Lipton, prominent author of The Biology of Belief. Cheryl
Richardson, a well known author in the self-development field and
strong fan of EFT is also included in this impressive array, as is
Donna Eden, one of the stars of the energy psychology community.

Finally, the film brings us some of those who featured prominently in
the movie The Secret, last year's film about the Law of Attraction
that has become so popular with the public. We visit Jack Canfield,
cofounder of the legendary Chicken Soup For The Soul series, and hear
his wise comments about energy psychology and EFT. We visit Joe
Vitale (also from The Secret) and hear him talk about EFT, and Bob
Proctor, best-selling author of You Were Born Rich and listen to him
explain points of Energy Psychology. Each time we are taken directly
into these people's homes and offices to visit with them informally as
they talk about the exciting potential of EFT and Energy Psychology,
lending impressive authority to the movie. All of these experts speak
with sincerity and passion.

What is particularly striking about this movie is that none of it is
contrived. The explanations are natural, human and down to earth and
there is no question in the mind of the viewer as to the genuineness
and conviction of the people who are explaining the process. They
know exactly what they are talking about and believe in it profoundly.
In other words, this is clearly not an "Infomercial" nor does it even
vaguely resemble one!

The movie continues to show the unfolding of the 4-day retreat and
ends as we see the people bid goodbye to each other, with regrets at
leaving their small supportive temporary community. The movie is
simple, human, and moving.

What will the effects of this film be on EFT's image in the minds of
the puiblic? One never knows about such things in advance, but it
would seem to be "just what the doctor ordered" in terms of public
relations for EFT. It is clearly a film that one can show to an
audience unfamiliar with EFT and stir up interest and openness in
those who watch it. It seems ideal for people who want a short but
effective and dignified way of presenting EFT to family, friends,
clients, students and the like. The movie gives just enough
information to whet these people's appetites without making them
erroneously feel that they are prematurely "experts" in this subject.

There is no question in my mind but that the film will leave people
wanting to know more about EFT, and since many of the participants in
the movie were seriously compromised with regard to health or
emotional problems and required the assistance of very experienced EFT
practitioners, I would expect that the need for well-trained EFT
practitioners will soar if this movie becomes well known.

As an interesting aside, I have been asked by the producers to write
the companion book to the movie (it will have the same name, Try It On
Everything). The book will be sold online along with the DVD a few
months from now when it is completed. It will fill in some of the
inevitable gaps in information that could not be covered in a movie
and be addressed specifically to the general public who may not yet
know about EFT, although it should contain very useful information for
EFT'ers as well.

To sum up my impression of the movie, it is hard to imagine anyone who
is enthusiastic about EFT who will not at some point want to see this
movie. It is a true milestone. And to make things even more
appealing, for every DVD that is purchased at the present time the
producers are donating a duplicate DVD to a hospital, prison, half-way
house or other place of assistance where it may be used to spread the
word about EFT so that it becomes a true resource for many, many more
people.

P.S. I do have a criticism with respect to the film which should also
be mentioned. The lengthy Disclaimer at the beginning of the DVD is
an incredibly detailed document that stays interminably long on the
screen - I was beginning to think that my TV set was broken; it had
remained there so long! If you are watching the film, I suggest that
you bring along a good book so that you will not get bored waiting for
the film itself to begin! (I'm joking of course, but it does seem like
a very unnecessary delay!). Perhaps the producers will remedy this
defect in later editions of the DVD - it wouldn't be impossible to do.

Not yet as I'm aware.
It probably won't take long unless the Copyright holders enforce their
rights.
I'm sure the owners want to make their money back.
They do allow purchasers to do free showings.
http://www.tryitoneverything.com/sharing_the_film.shtml
It's only $30.
http://www.tryitoneverything.com/order.shtml
I'll probably get a copy.
I have all the training videos already.
EFT is helping me daily.
I have SEVERE PAIN and MANY other issues associated with a long term
serious disability.
EFT has been keeping me sane for about a year.
You can learn it from the free manual here:
http://www.emofree.com/downloadeftmanual.asp
The Movie is likely pretty dramatic as I have seen many cases in the
DVD's already.
I have had measurable success %100 of the time with the people I have
done sessions.

Yes, very much.

There is a bit more to it though.
One must do the tapping algorithm while holding the negative emotion
or event that caused the trauma to "collapse" the imbalanced energy
and settle the body's system. It's like a TV that has a wire shorted
out. The tapping fixes the wiring.

It takes a bit more to know than the simple tapping routine which one

can be taught in a few minutes. Learning to design "setup phrases" to
get to core issues takes the real talent.
If one wants to deal with many different or serious issues
effectively, the training DVD's are a must.
One must know the possible impediments such as psychological reversal
or energy toxins in the event of little or no progress. One needs to
learn how to help a client get to core issues as well since they are
the key.
It is learnable by anyone but still takes practice. Most of my clients
prefer to do it along with me rather than alone. I tap along with them
which seems to incease the effectiveness of EFT. This is known as
"surrogate tapping."
The training DVDs help show the many different issues and approaches
to them. They have many examples by Practioners who have been using
EFT with other techniques for many years. This includes the "Tearless
Trauma" technique and many other techniques to make EFT work better
and faster.
A Practitioner would want to be thoroughly versed in the many aspects
that can arise from different issues they could be dealing with for
the client. Some are quite simple (usually) such as a simple phobia,
but others can take more experience and finesse' such as ritual abuse
or addictions to reach and collapse core issues. Many people have
issues that are repressed or long forgotten that they remember during
sessions. Things just come up as you "peel the onion" as it were.
Serious diseases take more time and a dedicated Practitioner and
client to get at "core issues" for long term complete relief.

but if it works it works

Thousands of cases prove it's efficacy.

As I said, I have had measurable reults with everyone I have worked
with teaching EFT. Many were life long issues that they had never been
able to collapse until they used EFT.
