For those of you residing in the Dallas area, and interested in
learning about solar power and its potential to promote health,
education, and economic growth in the developing world, don't miss the
World Affairs Council of Dallas / Fort Worth sponsored event - "Energy
is a Human Right: Solar Power as a Fundamental Enabler of Sustainable
Development", presented by Bob Freling, executive director of the
Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF). This presentation, being held at
the Rosewood Crescent Hotel from 6-8:00pm on Wednesday, March 26th,
will highlight the progress that SELF, a Washington, D.C.- based
nonprofit organization, has made in using solar technology to address
the vital needs in rural communities such as household lighting, water
pumping and purification, vaccine refrigeration in health clinics,
