No, psychology is not a science. At best it is a philosophy similar to religion
in that it claims to offer salvation (mental rather than spiritual) and charges
a lot of money to pursue that goal, and at worst it is a dangerous form of
brainwashing that should be outlawed as if it were a weapon of mass destruction.
Another thing I hate about psychology is that it essentially claims the power to
read someone's mind. A psychologist will directly challenge what someone says
on the grounds that he has an almost supernatural ability to detect and analyze
subtle behaviors that gives him a window into that person's mental processes,
which is the same as saying he can read minds. The person can deny being a witch,
but the inquisitor has a divine gift that allows him to detect witchery. |
