Glenn Close - A Career Defined by One Role
The magnificent career of Hollywood and Broadway actress
Glenn Close is defined by one unforgettable role, that
of the psycho-bitch from hell in "Fatal Attraction".
In that movie, Close's character pursues Michael Douglas,
his family, his pet rabbit, and his sanity with her own
insanity. She re-defines and multiplies the personlity
traits of "mood swings, depression, and irritability"
by manifesting the worst form of behavior ever captured
by a female in a movie.
In that film she plays the role of every man's worst nightmare.
Today she has crossed the Dairy Education Board's line and
become every consumer's worst nightmare by wearing a milk
mustache as a spokesperson for white-liquid hormone drinks.
In her new GotMilk ad, copywriters have Close saying:
"Look Close. To perform my best, I need to give my body the
attention it deserves. That's why I eat right, exercise
and drink milk. Studies suggest the nutrients in three
glasses of lowfat or fat-free milk a day can help you
maintain a healthy weight. And the protein helps build
muscle for a lean body. You'll see."
Studies do not say that at all. This lie is too absurd
for intellectual digestion. Milk was not designed to
be a weight-loss substance. Every infant of every species
of mammal who drinks milk does so to gain weight. That is
because milk naturally contains growth hormones. Milk does
not contain shrink hormones--Unless you need to see your
'shrink' after consuming powerful dairy steroid hormones
which the Townsend Medical Letter (May, 1995) identified
as a causal factor in:
"mood swings, depression, and irritability."
If ever you are tempted to drink a glass of milk, consider
the role of Glen Close in Fatal Attraction. That could be
you.
We applaud the dairy industry for selecting the perfect
"role" model to represent their product.
