The season of mists and mellow fruitfulness is on us. A thick mist
maybe fog in places (which is disastrous with the state of British
early morning driving these days) advertised on the morning weather-
forecasts.

So what is in store?

So all being equal, to coin a phrase, this spell will be anticyclonic
and thus we will get a lot of fog. .....And mists of course, mean
severe cyclonic activity.

Which means that there will be a major tropical or extra tropical
storm probably in Asia. (Why the hell they have to use the term extra
tropical to differentiate the type of cyclone form the tropical kind
is beyond me.)

If there is a major cyclone in the tropics or vicinity, the spell
changes to a wet spell. You can take a look at the official
