The Earth before Peru is not coming to a rest.
Latest quake on 18 August, strength 6.1 at 2:52 UTC, is reported by EMSC
at the site of the previous quakes.

Yes, it is called an aftershock.
Not that that is of any use to man or beast. But don't let the
thinking creatures of the planet interfere with anything that you do.
******
For those of us with more than a couple of brain cells, the problem
still persists and although the earlier 8M was extreme, it wasn't the
last one for this set-up.
Which is not to say the next one will be anywhere near Peru.
*******

Oh really?
Quote: Not that that is of any use to man or beast.
It is of use to man or beast, because this quake was not reported by USGS.
It was reported by EMSC. USGS was probably sleeping when it happened. And
what's a small 6.2 quake among friends?
I was triggered to action and write this note, because I have engineered the
"Earthquake Alert System", which takes alerts from USGS AND EMSC, and
produces an audible alert, whenever a strong quake happens.
To listen to the alerts costs nothing:
http://satellite.ehabich.info/index_speak_emsc.html.
My alerts come from the desktop, but you can also install the screensaver,
or keep a webpage open, to hear them.
Quote: But don't let the thinking creatures of the planet interfere with anything

Will do.

It is near Peru, you thinking creature.
This one has a magnitude of 6.2, at 1:22 UTC, on the 19th of August,
reported by USGS.
cheers,
Erich Habich
