Bad link,
but there are accelerometers based the doppler shift of light when
an object is in motion. You send laser light back and forth
through a long stretch of optical fiber and then interferometically
compare
two parts of the light. The result will change if the cable is
moving,
even a small amount. Some inertial guidance systems are using these
too.

MAYBE, the bugs run differently before and after-IF Bowman is not
controlling. You need to read my work which can be somewhat abstruse
due to environmental factors but essentially accurate: it's wormy.
I understand that most of what I discovered or explained is accepted
if not prime time for Nature or Science.
The possibility that one could simply place such a tool on the
desktop.... is entertaining if the ground rules are known.

MAYBE, Frog's bug diffusion patterns are different before and after an
Eq passes. My work on the idea is available in sci.geo.earthquakes,
accepted as real if not prime time Nature, and somewhat abstruse,
wormy from environmental factors.
The ideas need absorbtion to know when an Eq passes.
an enteratining freebie maybe tool.
the redundancy occurs with Google's current hangup.
