My duck has hatched 2 eggs but has 8-10 more. Will she set on them so they
will hatch? She's been taking care of the 2 babies off the next quite a bit
the last couple days. These are her first babies.
Thanks,

If she and the ducklings are off the nest -- she has finished.
She will have waited for at least 24 hours while these were resting and
drying before leaving the nest.
The others are either dead in shell or infertile or eggs that were laid
beneath her by others so incubating at different rates.
If she has been off the nest for days then its probably too late to put them
in an incubator but if you have one - and the wherewithall to raise them
away from mum it may still be worth candling and setting the remaining eggs
if there is anything in them that still seems to be alive.

I put the eggs in a styrofoam ice chest and put a heat lamp light on them
Monday night. I candled them and some were definitley dead. I wasn't quite
sure about the others so I waited. Tuesday night I got rid of 3 more so now
I have 3 eggs. Yesterday I also found one that is moving! And then
today I can hear it chirping and its heartbeat. How long will it take
it to hatch now that it is chirping or quacking or whatever baby ducks do?
LOL
Thanks,
Shirley
