Does anyone know how to use Poincare sections in dstool? I am
investigating the forced Duffing oscillator (x' = y, y' = -x^3 - bx +
Fcosz, z'=t). Under Orbits you select Stopping condition as Poincare
section. If I have an initial condition that I know gives an n=3
attractor, but don't get anything like 3 dots on the section. Under the
Stopping condition one can select x,y,z or t. Does one have to select
one of these? If I select t=0 I don't get anything. I checked the user
manual which doesn't help. Some assistance would be very helpful.
Thanks. |
