Hello,

I've got a question concernig inverse scattering transform (IST). If
such transform exists for PDE, this PDE is integrable. Then, where can
be found an example of analytic solution for arbitrary initial value
problem u(x,0) for KdV, SG, NSE, for which IST is known. I know that
this method can be easily applied to multiple soliton solution for such
equations, but haven't seen it applied to arbitrary initial conditions.
Maybe correct question is whether multiple soliton solution form a
basis ?
But these equations are still solved with the use of numerical methods
olthoug they are integrable.
I've written similar post to sci.physics.research but it haven't yet
appear there. If appears there don't be angry. I also want to thank you
for any hint or anwser.
