There is a basic powder product from Actilife Switzerland that claims
to help maintain a healthy acid-base pH level in the body. In very
fine tiny hard to read red letters on an orange background, I was
surprised to read that the daily recommended dose also provides 100 %
RDA for vit C. And over 40% RDA for calcium and magnesium, and over
30% for iron and zinc. Even more surprising was that the ingredients:
high on the list was citric acid, and lower was powdered lemon juice,
and ascorbic acid, making it look like the more expensive natural vit
C, instead of the cheaper synthetic. Yeast is also on the list of
ingredients, albeit low. When I looked at similar products, I could
not find any others with vitamin C.
My question is the following: is there a greater requirement for
vitamin C when taking such a basic mixture?
Actilife has various other products for calcium, magnesium, iron,
zinc, and vitamin C, and perhaps I just answered my own question why
these added ingredients are not so clearly advertised. It is
expensive, but considering all you get for it without clearly seeing
it, then its quite a good buy. |
