Hello,
My mother was diagnosed last year with hypogammaglobulenemia last
fall. They want me to be tested because I am very sensitive to
respiratory infections (ie: a general cold can become bronchitis if
I'm not careful.)
I don't have health insurance. So, I definitely can't see my mother's
specialist. I have no doubt my GP will run the blood tests. I can't
afford to have an appointment to discuss what tests, pay for the tests
and then have the necessary and needed follow up appointment. I agree
it's worth the money to have both appointments. Problem is I don't
have it; I'm disabled and unemployed.
What I am hoping is someone here can tell me which blood tests are
needed. I think if I drop off my mother's paperwork along with a list
of necessary tests for my GP to review that he will let the RN handle
the blood work. Thus, saving me the initial appointment fee.
So can anyone help? I know tests are coded.
Also, does being diagnoses really change anything? I will have to
remain diligent regarding my sinuses and respiratory systems.
Actually I have my own answer - a spot of pneumonia from a breathing
tube, which I'm told should have gone away on it's own or with mild
antibiotics, became full blown pneumonia after two days. I guess with
a diagnosis the doctors could have been better prepared. |
