Sometimes you'd be better off using a map.
A man and woman accused in a spree of Newmarket vehicle burglaries are
in custody after blundering into a U.S. border crossing in a stolen
SUV while blindly following GPS dashboard directions to Alberta.
U.S. border guards detained the couple March 3 at the Port Huron,
Mich., international bridge after checking the licence plate of a
Toyota Highlander and discovering it was stolen.
The Toyota's GPS device apparently pointed the vehicle to Western
Canada via Michigan and Wisconsin, rather than by the Trans-Canada
Highway looping north of Lake Superior.

In my view, the really intriguing part is how the GPS unit, knowing it
was stolen, suckered the thiefs into driving into the perfect trap:
trying to take a stolen SUV past the guardians of Homeland
Security...
This is <way> better than the driver blindly following his GPS into
the car ferry docking location... |
