Back in the goo old days, I had a Garmin eMap. 2D only, B&W, no
auto-routing. But it let me set the zoom, showed a scale on the screen, and
also let me set the level of detail I wanted to see... Oh, and only
trackup... Hell, the damn thing only lets me change colours & 2D vs 3D
Then I bought a TomTom500... Oops.. Bugger. No zoom, no detail setting, and
no scale on the screen...
So I'm now looking at changing my TT500 for a Nuvi660. But I can't find
confirmation of a couple of questions...
1. I notice zoomin & zoomout buttons on the screen when navigating. Do these
STAY zoomed in/out? Or is it the bloody annoying temporary zxoom out & then
zoom back into something the programmer thought 'would be better for me'.
2. Can you navigate North up on the display? I really miss that...
3. Can you set more/less detail... Permanently in the setting slike you
could on the eMap etc?

They stay the same except when the turn directions come
up...

Sorry, that last sentence should have been a complaint about the TT500, not
the eMap...

I saw that. Thanks.
On another question... Does anyone know if the lack of FM Transmitter in the
660 is software or hardware in the UK? Now that they're legal, can it be
enabled? Or does that require Garmin to do something? Or do I need to get
the 670 (WHich just appears to be a 660 with extra maps AFAICS).
