Two people have died in the first shock; this is a report of that one:

"JAKARTA (Reuters) - A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.3 killed at
least two children on Indonesia's Sumatra island on Tuesday and was
felt in Malaysia and caused the evacuation of several buildings in
Singapore.

However, there was no immediate warning of a tsunami from the quake,
which had an epicentre under land."

I dare say the initial magnitude will get an upgrade. I confess to
have given up expecting a large magnitude quake in favour of tornadic
activity (in lieu of the fading impact of cyclone George in Australia.)

With more news reports, estimates seem to be all over the place, with
one stating fatalities have reached 13.

Not interested in any quakes that don't occur in the us?

Typical of this newsgroup.

FYI 70 dead.

Since earthquakes that don't occur in the U.S. are discussed here all the
time, your point, such as it is, is moot.

Its already been a dozen hours since the quake and
none of the "usual suspects" in this newsgroup
have predicted it yet. I'm disappointed.
