nothing to download, but these two books should be available a every
decent university library :

Knabner, Peter; Angermann, Lutz
Numerical methods for elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations.
Translation from the German. (English)
Texts in Applied Mathematics 44. New York, NY: Springer. xv, 424~p.

Thomas, J.W.
Numerical partial differential equation. Conservation laws and elliptic equations. (English)
Texts in Applied Mathematics. 33. New York, NY: Springer. xxii, 556 p.

Then sci.math.num-analysis is the false newsgroup you
contacted. The above quoted textbook treats the subject from the functional analytic side and does not include
any numerical methods.
Better try sci.math.research.

Best wishes
Torsten.
