I have to admit that once upon a time some educated readers read this
Usenet Newsgroup simply for comic relief. Sadly, these days times seem
to have changed, an today posts on the newsgroup are almost entirely
from those unfortunatly both poorly educated and with mental
problems.
Years back on this Newsgroup we could read silly but entertaining
posts on Free Energy, Brown's Gas, Magnetic Machines, and just about
every silly idea that tickled one's imagination, most well written by
people like Michael Hannon and others.
Back then, there were a great deal of silly posts made by people that
didn't quite comprehend the 'Conservation of Energy' or the principles
of 'Thermodynamics', but still then their posts were clever enough to
have a bit of fun with their debunking. Not so today.
Many of today's readers have been on this Newsgroup long enough to
recall the 'Car that Ran on Water', Brown's Gas, and other pseudo-
scientific claims. Sadly, because they are now all gone into history,
because none of them actually worked.
Today's posters don't appear to have any real sense of imagination, so
their posting are simply boring to read.
Am I the only one that notices this?

No, Harry, I too miss Michael's posts. He had a much better imagination
and writing style than the current crop of looneys, and was far more
entertaining.
Looking on the bright side, I hope his absence is due to him finally
getting his meds properly adjusted, and perhaps actually studying some
physics. I think he had potential, so maybe he's finally using it.

The femtohannon remains an immutable physical standard.
Of which none of the current crop of epsilon minuses cannot remotely
approach.

Sure, Harry. This is why you, I, and Don L. post so little. It just
isn't any fun to read any more. And the level of idiocy is not as well
defended as it used to be. Now the basic argument seems to be "It's true
because I say it is." OR "I know it works since I don't pay the power
companies any money at all and get the energy free (or almost free)."
Can't be any more boring than such arguments. Making statements about
basic economics and basic laws of science goes over like a lead balloon
with the present idiots. We, at one time, looked at most claims
carefully since we know technological improvements are always possible
since there are no perpetual motion machines of the second kind that are
possible and the present energy machines tend toward poor efficiency
(save for electric motors.)

Sure, in my case it was a hobby. Observation of aberrant thought over
time. Usenet groups the exchange of information into orderly subjects.
The original framers did not expect/anticipate the participation of
true cognitive disease getting into the forum due to the technical
nature of usenet, i.e. the bozo filter became less effective over
time. Once contaminated, the original posters abandon the group. There
never was any "science" at all on any sci group, and never will be. |

Oh that's funny... I just added this group back today after years away, and
there it is "Yull Browns Gas"!!! LOL!!! Some jokes just die harder than
others. What were some of it's magical properties??? it imploded rather
than explode... it could vaporize tungsten, but the flame was only at room
temp by radiation pyrometer... and my favorite it could nutralize
radioactivity!
