Hi!

I am not impressed. Too many loop-holes for them.

I've seen a lot of things sold on eBay by sellers that use SquareTrade
services. I've even bid on a few, and so far it seems that there is
*nothing* SquareTrade won't put a warranty on. Two notable items I've
purchased come to mind as having carried an offer for SquareTrade
warranties--an IBM 8507 CRT display and a ~1988 era IBM M-ACPA sound card.

How they think they'd replace either item--or even offer "reasonable"
replacement price--is beyond me. I would say they certainly have a pretty
good chance of using those loopholes.

Ah, but do you know of any *unhappy* SquareTrade customers? Or do you
just not know ANY SquareTrade customers, period?

My own experience with ST and the experience of those I have contacted
has been universally dissatisfactory.

Specifics? What did you experience?

Guy had the ST symbol on his listings, but refused to negotiate at all and
the amount was less than $25 so I saw no point paying $25 for more 'help'.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Bad-eBay-Sellers/ has more tales.

I got together with other unhappy 'customers' and drove him off eBay.

That is a beef with a vendor, not with SquareTrade. My original
question remains.

Everyone was PO'd at ST for the total lack of interest. ISTM it was a just a
way for eBay to pass the buck but do nothing except maybe make more money.
They are slightly better now I'm pleased to say.
