Hello,
I am doing the KS test with two different programs: Minitab and
Dataplot. With the same dataset, they give different KS statistics. I
programmed and calculated and I found Minitab takes a different way to
calculate KS statistics. With a dataset without ties, I got the same
results from the two programs but with ties, I got different results.
In the help menu, it says "When the dataset includes ties, Minitab
uses the average of the ranks for each tied value to calculate these
statistics." The averaging the ranks must cause the difference for the
dataset with ties.
Anybody knows how Minitab averages the ranks and calculates KS
statistics?

Let's say I have a dataset:

data rank Average rank
1 1 2.5
1 2 2.5
1 3 2.5
1 4 2.5
2 5 5.5
2 6 5.5
3 7 7.5
3 8 7.5
4 9 9

Then, I don't know how Minitab calulates KS statistics with the
averaged ranks.

Thank you,

Donny
