Dear Data Miners,

Analysis of job advertisements indicates that data mining jobs
often seek people with Unix scripting skills. Unfortunately,
"scripting" is not yet a well defined skill set.

The purpose of this survey is to establish contact with industry
professionals wishing to influence the curriculum of their future
employees. At the end of the survey is an invitation to become
involved in the committee to oversee this research.

Survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=743662789831

Background:

Unix Scripting Education Professional Advisory Committee (USEPAC)
is based at three Australian universities with the
task of determining the scripting skills which
define the various levels of competence. The identified skill sets
will be published in order to drive the design of courses and learning
resources in the IT education sector, and to enable IT professionals
to be aware of their standing.
