Yeah, Nowak did the stalking but the other two of the love triangle
could come out looking like a bunch of teenagers.
Will Oefelein fly again?
Will Shipman advance in her career?
What do you think? |

No, They will come out as adult human beings with healthy bodies and sexual
apetites. |

Unless more comes out, I cannot see why it should affect either of them, in
fact, the latter showed great presence of mind I thought.

First of all, Shipman is not an astronaut. She is the innocent victim here.
Secondly, Oefelein was apparently leading two different women along,
Nowak and Shipman, while his own marriage had foundered. And a moral
cheat is a moral cheat. I remember something Ross Perot once said: "If
a guy cheats on his own wife in marriage, how can I ever trust that he
won't cheat me in business?" To me, cheating on your wife or girlfriend
is ipso facto proof of duplicitous character and bad judgment, and
somebody like that shouldn't be an astronaut.

This all must be proven, of course. Oefelein divorced in 2005, and we
don't know how long his relationship with Shipman has been going on
(except that Nowak stalked her for months.) And what do Oefelein's
half of the email exchanges with Nowak say? They might be all
business, or they might be simple non-romantic friendship discussions.
He might have been in a good relationship with Shipman and nothing
more than a professional relationship with Nowak, and Nowak deluded
herself into seeing a lot more. We don't know yet, so no jumping to
conclusions, please.

Then, its a very Good Thing that no one wants a rush-to-judge-with-NO-
facts goon like you placed in charge of anything...
As yet, there is simply NO evidence that Nowak's desire for Oefelein
was in any way reciprocated by him, or even *known* to him.
I prefer to await FACTS before condemning people. The FACTS over
what Nowak did, and had with her, to do more, are in.

Is it essential to you that you insult people that make a statement you
disagree with? It is one thing to disagree, it is another to constantly
resort to insults and name calling. This is in general a civil newsgroup.
Why don't you make an effort to be civil in your disagreements? If you like
to flame, try the warez groups. Flaming is an artform over there. You will
fit right in.
But this is the internet. It is your right to accuse everyone you disagree
with of sodamizing young children and anything else you wish, but you might
consider toning down a bit if you want people to listen to you.
In the mean time, I wish peace and happiness for you and your family.

<laughs> The persons who rush to knee jerk PREjudge are the ones who
made the insult. Its just that they insulted *themselves*, and, by
extension, anyone around who saw them do just that.
I just happened to point it out. Thats all.
Quote: It is one thing to disagree, it is another to constantly

OK: I disagree with knee jerking and UNthinking PREjudice.
Happy ?

Let be clear about this. You are *fine* with IDIOTs rushing to knee jerkily
PREjudge matters where there is *exactly NO evidence*.
You just don't want anyone pointing out *what they did*.
<laughs> No. Pound sand.
Quote: But this is the internet. It is your right to accuse everyone you

<Laughs> Go tell that to the people who *actually made such claims*.
I only pointied out that their claims had AbZero factual basis to
them.

Ah, you are a hypocrite and a knee jerk defender. Got it.
Seek professional mental health care for your control issues, and
seek professional counseling for your deep seated biases in favour
of NON thinking, fact free, knee jerking.
HTH.

Oefelein's ex-mother-in-law is stating that his adultery with Nowak
lead to the breakup of his marriage. His wife filed for divorce when
she found it.
My opinion - Oefelein won't be going to space again... Can you imagine
the news reports the next time a shuttle took off with Oefelein on
it? lol. Nasa likes them squeaky clean. |

Other Man's Mother-in-Law: Nowak Broke Up My Daughter's Marriage
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - The star-crossed space cadet who allegedly
made it her mission to murder the woman dating her Cape Canaveral
crush helped break up his 17-year marriage, his former mother-in-law
said yesterday.
Shuttle pilot Bill Oefelein's ex-wife's mom claimed yesterday that
Lisa Nowak's gravitations toward the flyboy caused his marriage to
crash and burn in 2005.
She said their relationship devastated his wife, Michaella, who filed
for divorce.
"She broke my daughter's heart," Charlene Davis said by phone from

As I thought. Your style of communication would fit right in over in the
warez groups. You should really give it a try. I personally think flaming
is an art form. I also enjoy it but I only do it in the appropriate sites
on the net.
This is probably the last response you will ever get from me. It is obvious
your only objective to conduct flaming attacks on people. Take care.
Danny Deger
P.S. If I do ever meet you in something like a warez group, I will be glad
to see who can flame the best. You are pretty good, but I think I can beat
you. |

This might have been somewhat convincing IF the mother in law had said
such *before* this incident occured...
Gee, is it possible that a conniving and involved person who bears
some animus towards her daughter's ex husband might just be trying
to score points against him, *now that this is a national story* ?
Hmmmmm ?
Its kinda like finding out that, *after* you win the $100 Million
lottery, that girls find you... very, very attractive. But, the ones
that liked you *before* that win are the honest ones... The others
only have a motive to cash in...
