I am located in South East Pennsylvania. Last night we had our first
snow of the season. It didn't amount to much. It was just a dusting but
enough to make it turn to ice. I was really excited when I looked out
the window and saw it starting to lay on the roads. I absolutely love
the snow. I never have to drive in it and I guess thats why. I love
going out to make a snowman and snow angles and go sledding with my
kids. Unfortunetly, that just hasn't happened yet. This winter is very
different, and I have to say I don't like it much. This past week was
when if finally started getting cold. Us Pennsylvanians just don't know
what to do with warm weather after October. It just never happens. I
feel for everybody in California. That must have been a shock. Here we
have learned how to keep our plants safe for when that first frost
hits, the only thing you can do is cover your plants with a tarp,
newspapers, leaves, straw, containers, and just about anything you can
find around your house that will cover completely and keep them warm.
Last year when our leaves came off the trees most of the leaves went
onton my flower beds and I left them there. Close to the end of winter
when the snow melted I looked at my flower bed and saw so many of my
flowers that should have died were so bloomed and pretty. I just
couldn't believe it. It really does help to cover the best you can.
Hope everything works out and all of your plants come back.

Hello to another Pennsylvanian! I'm in Pennsylvania too, between
Williamsport (home of Little League baseball) and the New York state border.

We got our first snow this weekend too. However if we never got a single
snowflake, it wouldn't bother me one little bit!
