I went on a junk food binge for a couple of days because I thought it
would be fun to celebrate getting an awesome new MP3 player. At the
same time, my old knee pain flared up and I started feeling terrible
overall like I used to when I ate unhealthy. Then I went back on my
healthy diet and the knee pain died down and my sense of mental &
physical wellbeing came back. I was looking into buying some
glucosamine & chondroitin, but I think if I eat very healthy, my body
will manufacture more of the substances it needs, such as glucosamine
and hyaluronic acid. I must be making more seratonin since I've been
on a healthy diet, because it has cured my chronic depression, which I
had for years and seemed impossible to get rid of until I began eating
extremely healthy. Now that I know how bad junk food makes me feel and
how much it hurts my health, I hate it. I eat raw fruits & vegetables,
wild salmon, raw nuts, plain yogurt with probiotics, cinnamon, sesame
seeds, etc. I also take a lot of nutritional supplements: fish oil,
alpha lipoic acid, carnitine, acetyl-l-carnitine, coenzyme q-10, a
multivitamin pill, borage oil, and glutamine. Lately I've been getting
nutritional advice from Dr. Perricone's weight loss book. He knows
about all the foods and supplements which will help reduce
inflammation, increase anti-oxidants, increase insulin sensitivity,
and give many health benefits.

Anyway, my point is: don't you guys agree that your body will
manufacture more of the substances it needs if you eat a very healthy
diet instead of pizza, alcohol, and pastries? By substances I mean
things like: seratonin, glucosamine, hyaluronic acid, hormones,
enzymes, and many more things the body makes? I read that the
production of some of these things decreases as you grow older. I
think I can boost the production and rejuvenate my body by eating as
healthy as I can and taking nutritional supplements, and at the same
time avoiding unhealthy foods like the plague.

I've done a great deal of research on this subject and related ones
over the last several years. You can read about my conclusions on my
free site:

If you have questions, you can ask me on the two newgroup forums
there. I am not selling anything - the site is free in every way (MSN
just puts some advertising on the top).

Apologies. You really set yourself up. It was too good to resist.
