Hi all,
There is a plethora of websites that offer CEUs.
I'd really appreciate some recommendations. I
haven't done any CEUs yet, and I need to get on the stick.

I'll probably end up finding a local business that
offers CEUs on-site since I prefer in-person teaching,
but I want to have a web based option just for quickly
brushing up in certain areas.
Thanks much!

You need CEUs before you are even licensed?? Here in California we don't
need to provide proof of CEUs until our second license renewal.

He wrote "RN gonna-be," not "RN wanna-be". (Yeah...I had to read it
twice, too...)

I guess that means either he's planning retirement or anticipating what
will happen if he doesn't get his CEUs quickly enough.

I'm an LPN currently. I want to soak up a lot
of CEs before I go back to school in the next couple years.
The place I work is not all that challenging and I want to
do *something* to help myself stay sharp. Not a lot of
conferences to attend around these parts either.
I shoulda been more verbose.
Thanks!

Those conferences.... sheesh. One of my coworkers and I joke about having slept
together... listening to one of the speakers drone on about some lame subject or
another. Sure put me to sleep.

Somebody made a crack about Susan starting to snore and I said, "What are you
talking about? I was sitting right next to here and never heard her snore!"

Does your employer offer freebie CEUs on line like mine does? I can't see
paying for them unnecessarily. I also can't see taking one without getting paid
for it.

I do the Western Schools and Medceu.com courses because they aren't
overpriced. I can't see spending $10 for one measely CEU. Those
two sites are much cheaper. Their offerings are somewhat limited, but
you might want to check out them out and see if there's anything that
interests you.
If you sign up for medceu , you can do as many courses as you want for
one price; so if you have a lot of time, that might be a good option
for you.
I try to get as many free CEUs as possible. Often wound care or drug
companies will offer them, or you can find some online. I've also
asked employers for inservices on particular topics which they could
offer to all the staff, for free. Have fun!

If it were me, I would focus on passing the NCLEX-RN first, before worrying
about CEUs.

What I was trying to point out was what I took to be a pun / joke on
his part. I assumed it meant the original poster was already an RN.
But I don't know. Maybe he can explain. If not, I guess it will have
to remain a mystery.

He's an LPN who plans to go back to school to become an RN in a few
years.

I guess I see what you mean about the "RN gonna-be." I figured he was
serious and took it to be that he is not an RN yet, but intends to be
someday.

Very interesting. I've never had a problem with them; guess I'm
lucky!

Glad to hear that. The complaints from others was with
double billing, repeat billing and a lot of spam from them
to their email addresses.

Also that they were not accredited, which means that their
certificates were not recognized. There is an alert on them
at the ANCC site.
