hi there! i have a wisdom tooth which has grown a little too much
outward towards my cheek. the tip is a few mm out.

this is making chewing gum and eating tough foods difficult as i am
biting my cheek.

the thought of extraction makes me shudder in fear. would it be
reasonable to try smoothing out the tip of the tooth first? how much
can you smooth out from a tooth before you reach nerves and tissue?

thanks,

L

That depends upon the position of the tooth and the anatomy of your
gum. You'd really have to be seen to make an assessment of this, there
are no general rules.

Sorry,
Steve

I would say this is not reasonable since I've never heard this being
done or considered standard of care.
I doubt it will correct the other problems of a partially erupted
wisdom tooth.
