Hi,
I'm wondering if there's some way to show lat. long. coordinates on
these units. Hack? Software update? Very important for emergencies.

Not sure on those particular nuvi models, but for others in the range
if you touch the signal strength bars on the menu page they will go to
the satellite status page, and the co-ordinates of your current
position are shown - see appendix in manual headed "About GPS
satellite signals" |

These StreetPilots will not display coordinates
