A friend still has a GPSMAP 175 - he loves it - but the internal
battery is nearly dead and he loses his stored waypoints.

Has anyone had one of these apart and are the batteries available?

The local NZ Garmin Agent was not a lot of help as it is a long
discontinued model.

I've had one apart for other reasons, it wasn't a big deal, just took a little care.
Dunno about the battery though.
