I went to welding class this morning (only the third class) to find out
that the instructor (Bob Worden) had died this weekend. The details were
sparse, but it seems he had a fire at his home on Sunday and had died in
the fire. He was 62.
He's been teaching welding at the Northern VA Community College (NOVA) in
Manassas VA for over 20 years so I thought there might be some past
students or people that knew him on this list that would like to know about
his passing.
He was the current chairman of the AWS DC section.
If I have the information correct, they are having a service at the
National Funeral Home in Falls Church on Feb 3 (Saturday) starting at 10am.
The phone number is 703 560-4400.
His family requested anyone wanting to make a donation instead of sending
flowers should donate to the Paralyzed Veterans of America
(http://www.pva.org).

It pains me to hear of a welding instructor dying.
There are ever fewer of us.
I hoist a drink in his honor. |
