EEStor in Technology Review

Tyler Hamilton, known to bloggers as the publisher of the Clean Break blog has authored
a comprehensive article about EEStor that appeared in the January 22 issue of MIT's
Technology Review.

The article reviews the claims of the company, Tyler gets a rare
interview with Richard Weir, EEStor's co-founder and chief executive officer and talks
to several experts that are skeptical about the capacitor based electrical energy
storage unit (EESU). The article was timed based on EEStores "milestone" announcement
that was reported in an earlier post indicating:

1) That it remains on track to begin shipping production 15 kilowatt-hour EESU to ZENN
Motor Company in 2007 for use in their electric vehicles.
2) An automated production line has been proven to meet the requirements for precise
chemical delivery, purity control, parameter control and stability of its barium nitrate
powder.
3) The company has completed the initial milestone of certifying purification,
concentration, and stability of all of its key production chemicals notably the
attainment of 99.9994% purity of its barium nitrate powder.
4) EEStor is now in the process of producing on its automated production line,
composition-modified barium titanate powders and is moving toward completing its next
major milestone of powder certification.

The EESU is projected to offer up to 10x the energy density (volumetric and gravimetric)
of lead-acid batteries at the same cost. In addition, the ESU is projected to store up
to 1.5 to 2.5 times the energy of Li-Ion batteries at 12 to 25% of the cost.
