Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when Forbes magazine publishes articles
like this one, from one of the most prominent ‘Global Warming Misleaders’ in the
country, I have to wonder why? Why induce doubt into a topic already well funded by oil
companies as bunk? Why give people more reasons to continue their wasteful and damaging
habits? Why?
The article is written by Myron Ebell, director of the Cooler Heads Coalition; which
seeks to discredit Global Warming alarmists and ‘oppose energy rationing policies.’ In
these words of wisdom, he says that the world should embrace Global Warming because it
will give us warmer winters and result in less deaths due to cold. In fact, Ebell says
that the United States would benefit greatly because less people would move down South
to enjoy warmer temperatures and instead would populate areas like North Dakota and
Maine.
I quote, “So modest climatic improvement would be to have fewer and less severe big
winter storms. Amazingly, that’s exactly what we should get if global warming theory
turns out to be true. The models say that much of the warming will occur in the upper
latitudes and in the winter. At the risk of further ridicule in kooky blogs in England,
where global warming alarmism is now a religion, that sounds pretty good to me. Fewer
people will die from the cold.”
Ugh. I’m all for different angles of thought, but this is just hilarious and sick at the
same time. You can read the full Forbes article here. I’ve given this guy enough net
time here as it is. |
