I am looking to get my wife some fine jewelry with an astronomical
theme. I have Googled some, but haven't had a lot of luck, its all
cheap stuff or astrological. I know that one company has that insert
in Sky & Telescope every year, but I have forgotten their name.
Anyone remember? Any other places that sell astronomical themed
jewelry? I am talking the good stuff here since its an anniversary
present.
Thanks! |

How about a meteorite?
Some years ago I bought a Moldavite which is not actually a meteorite but
created by a meteor strike.
Googling "meteor" and "sale" will give dozens of places that sell meteors
and so on, and some of these pieces make striking jewellery. |

I have bought my wife several pieces of jewelry made from meteorites and
she loves them. One company I've dealt with and recommend is Southwest
Meteorite Laboratory in Arizona. Their web site at
http://www.meteorite-lab.com doesn't list their jewelry -- that page has
been "under construction" for years -- but call or write to them and
they'll help you out. Very knowledgeable and great to deal with. They go
out of their way to help.

Thanks for the replies!
I'll check out all the sites mentioned. I especially like the idea of
some meteorite jewelry.
I think I'll pass on the star registry though. Somehow, I think that
using a scam as an anniversary present would get me in trouble! |
