I have googled and googled, looked on the bag and can find nutritional
values but no actual ingredients. Does anyone know what actually goes
into layers rations?

Its too late at night to look at a bag but our Dodson and Horrell bags have
a full list of ingredients.
There are one or two of the older manufacturers who have really moved into
the more lucrative worlds of horse feeds [under various name changes] who
have slipped down the ladder somewhat in quality and ability
but most of the domestic suppliers and theown brands should give a list on
the bag label
If you use a smaller mill phone them and ask -- they have to tell you - they
don't need to tell you the exact proportions but should give you in order of
volume
One of the reasons we went to pellets was the greater proportion of barley
in meal which can cause digestive problems but is used as it makes the meal
"flow" better.
I did some digging several years ago and spoke to quite a number of their
nutritionists- those who had them [and their nearest equivalent for those
who hadn't !]
We don't have the luxury of an independant mill but Dodson and Horrell came
top of the list for interest, knowledge, and wanting to help.

i had a look on my bag, but the label's come off :-)

i'd say it depends on your country (hence some things might be included or
might be banned), and the season (what is available), and the company's
Secret Recipe, anyway - so unless the manufacturers tell you, someone else's
list might be a bit pointless.
