The authorities all say that cocks need a high roost to be able to stretch
their necks and crow.
This morning our two were sheltering under a metal sheet. They weren't even
standing but 'sitting down'. They had a couple of inches above their combs
and were crowing alternately.
They stretch out their necks forward to crow, it seems to be just as
effective, the crowing was LOUD.
We're going to have to do the deadly deed tonight or tomorrow, they've begun
fighting in earnest and have bleeding combs and wattles :-(
