All
I have an item on Ebay that I think is not identified correctly. Ebay item
2575106542. It has a B&L label on it. Another has thought it is the remains of
a Metallurgical misroscope. I thought it was an Optical bench. And after much
thought I decided to ask here.

My guess is that it once held an interferometer, and was used for
measuring the focal length of lenses. I have an interferometer with a
long scale bar like that (not B&L, and not nearly as nice), for the
same purpose. Chances are, some previous owner decided to keep the
good part and give the rest away. |
