i am trying to recycle sodiumhydroxide to sodiumhydride

the boiling temperature of all elements are 1156 k
ore less eccept carbon but this wil react at 900 k

i know this proces works
2 NaOH + 2 CH4 + heat ---> 2 Na + 5 H2 + 2 CO

The sodium and hydrogen will condense together as NaH if they are
cooled together.

will this also work?
NaOH + C + heat --> NaH + CO
2NaOH + C + heat --> 2NaH + CO2

or do i get CH molecules or something like that?

Why not just use the Lye the way it is? Makes a find solution to put some
steel into and electrolize the Hydrogen that way. Scrap steel and iron are
pretty cheap. The steel will deplete but for a few cents you can add more
:)

Iffin you gotta crack something, try Amonia. NH3. You get 1/3 more fuel
than the same amount of water and Nitrogen is as safe as oxygen to release.
Plus Amonia stores in a plastic tank at room temperature!

What you gonna do with Hydrogen once you get it? If I tried to get you to
"boil" down your own gasoline would you try that? Fuel cells are useless.
The powers that be intend to replace fossil with them, but they will keep
control and you will be buying H2 instead of gasoline. Nothing will change
for us through Hydrogen. They are just running out of fossil, this is the
replacement, that's all. Same old same for us.

I already walked deep into those wood and turned and walked right back out!
For instance did they tell you that low heat cells are so sensitive to
carbon that you need two scrubbers? Yep, one at high preasure and another
at low. Get any carbon or other foreign matter in the cell and it will clog
and you can throw her away! Got to get up past 1000 degree C into phosophic
acid model before they will burn off the carbon and self clean!!!

How you gonna clean your hydrogen, bubble it up through vinegar? That may
work for a short time in a single cell for experiments but long term they
will clog on you. What about storage? Old propane tanks maybe? Took a
look at hydrogen penetration and the brittle factor on those?

It just ain't workable for the home tinkerer. First redneck that blows his
head or the neighbors kids up and there will be regulations longer than a
witches dream LOL!
