Hi,

I am looking for a neat way to switch between video sources in a PIC
controlled circuit. At first i considering using relays, but they go
'click click' - apart from that, is there any other reason relays are
bad ?

I did find an IC (p15v332) but its surface mount and therefore pain to
use.

Is there any other commonly available IC's out there for doing this ?
(in through-board style)

An update!.

I tested using a NPN TIP 120 transistor for switch video, it seems to
work.
except when the video signal is dark (night time image) is seems a
little distorted, but bright images look good!.

I *think* its because low voltages of the video signal arent getting
through - would this just be a matter of using a different transistor,
if so, which one ? or is this a common problem and the reason they
dont use transistors to switch video inputs ?
