In my lower stream Year 7 group this year, I have a considerable number
of pupils who do not possess the cognitive abilities to cope with KS3
Science concepts. The obvious answer of "Well, don't do it then!" is not
an option.

I am looking for a KS3 course (preferably a pupil's book or PC masters)
which these pupils can use to introduce them to the basic elements of
KS3 science without stretching them to the point where it becomes mumbo-
jumbo and they give up. I would hope that they could work from this
course, even with separate practical work, whilst the rest of the class
get on with a more advanced approach.

Any suggestions for books or courses would be welcomed.

I don't mean to sound like a perfect idiot, but it's a talent.

What is KS3 science?

No problem - there are so many abbreviations and acronyms around these
days that some posts are like trying to read a 14 year old's text
message.

KS3 = Key Stage 3

What is key stage 3? Does it correspond to a particular age group or grade
level?
