What is a "rontier," "rantier," or "rontiae" economy? Since it gets
no Google hits, I must be mishearing it. Is there a kind of economy
that sounds something like that? If so, what does it mean? Thanks.

Rentier economy...means land owners getting paid rents but
not producing... so you have a non productive class collecting
money....from those who produce.

That can get out of balance as the rents and the taxes (also a
form of rent) exceeds the production... decimating the viable
productive aspects of the nation.

its a good study..good luck

"Rentier." It's French, meaning someone who gets his income as a
stream of economic rent, in return for no contribution.
