Portfolio of PAF as of 18DEC03
BCE 200 21.70 $4,340.00
BLS 50 27.62 $1,381.00
BMY 100 27.21 $2,721.00
DT 50 17.47 $873.50
Q 50,000 3.78 $189,000.00
SBC 11,600 25.31 $293,596.00
VZ 50 34.40 $1,720.00
WYE 50 40.47 $2,023.50
realestate land 3APR03 of 3 lots $19,000
art of science-lithographs & porcelain JAN-JUN03 for $12,000
realestate land 30JUL03 another lot $11,500
Today I sold 1,050 shares of Qwest at 3.72 in order to buy 150 BCE at
21.65. My basis for the Qwest shares was 3.60 so the gain was tiny. I
am rearranging the portfolio for next year as I want to fully employ
the Crossover technique.
Last time I was able to do any action with this porfolio was the first
week of November, last month, by spending dividend income to buy more
shares of SBC, which to me seems like a long time. Because I am
thrilled and excited with Switching Campaigns in the Crossover
Technique where I love to get freebie shares plus cash extras about
every week or two weeks. So the past 4 or 5 months have been somewhat
boring.
And it is a tribute to my OptimalStrategy of the Crossover technique
in switching campaigns that it **teaches me how to be a better
investor**. Because up until about the last 4 or 5 months I have
always been under the illusion that a downtrodden company in say the
pharmaceutical or in the telecom business had the dimension of being
"bought out" and that "buyouts" was part of the OS of stockmarket.
So one of the troubles in the past half year is that I have not really
followed the OS of Stockmarket myself but have been using my old
prejudices and bias. I should stick firmly to the OS itself.
In the past 4 or 5 months I have reconsidered that and am trying to
re-sculpture my portfolio to have "no expectations of a buyout". This
is much in keeping with the OS of chess, in that the whippersnapper
player who thinks that an aggressive opening and middle game is going
to have a exchange for major pieces to his advantage is much like
investing in downtrodden companies in hopes that they are boughtout.
Whereas the real and true OS of chess is so fine tuned that not even a
pawn advantage is scraped out of the opening and middle game. So that
if we translate Chess to the Stockmarket, that the only Angle for
Advantage is the Crossover Technique in Switching Campaigns. And in
this vein we do not want the downtrodden pharmaceutical nor telecom.
We want the middle of the road pharmaceutical and telecom.
In the past 10 years I had bought Syntex, had bought Upjohn, had
bought SmithKline, to name a few of downtrodden companies with the
hopes of buyout and sure enough one by one they were boughtout. But
the OS of the Stockmarket is changing my old ways.
