Does anyone know either a cheap place to buy or a way to cheaply make
a 48 Pin TSOP Test Clip? I really don't want to desolder and resolder
a 48 pin package.

There is an awesome idea here
http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1259

Basically it involves cutting wire wrap wire at a sharp angle, so that you
have a contact on one side and insulation the other side, and then push it
between pins. Here's a quote from that link:

"the procedure is simple
take a short length if unstripped wire wrap, and cut it at a sharp angle ,
you now have a needle sharp wire that is insulated on one side. shove it
between some pins , making sure the insulation is facing one of the pins (it
should beable to hold itself in).
repeat procedure for all of the pins you intend to connect to

you can hotglue the wires together to make it easier to reinsert them later,
just be careful not to dislodge them in the process. "

Cheers,

Anthony

Smallest clips are for SIOC at 50mil pitch. TSOP is smaller pitch and wider
package

You can get tiny grabber hooks and connect to each pin.

These guys http://www.adapt-plus.com/ have press-on test clips that
include TSOP-48. I haven't tried them -- I usually rely on probing a
few accessible test points, assuming I remember to have them put on
the board.

If the OP does give these a try, I'd be interested to hear how well
they worked. Might come in handy, someday.
