Nanofabrication Scientist/Engineer Wanted

Nanofluidics, Inc., a Cornell University spin-out company is seeking a
nanofabrication scientist/engineer to participate in research and
development activities related to the manufacture of zero-mode
waveguide technology. The successful applicant will have experience
with electron beam lithography, reactive ion etching and thin film
deposition techniques. Responsibilities will include fabrication of
sub-100 nm structures in thin metal films, microscopy and metrology of
nanostructures fabricated, process refinement and collaboration with
zero-mode waveguide users. Knowledge of physics and biology is a
plus. Salary will depend on experience. A Ph.D. in electrical
engineering, physics or applied physics is preferred, but applicants
with relevant experience will be considered who have a
bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years experience in
nanofabrication. This is a “soft money” position, funded
by a grant from the NIH to refine the manufacture of zero-mode
waveguides, an optical isolation technology for single-molecule
spectroscopy appearing on the cover of the Jan 31, 2003 issue of the
journal Science. The position is available immediately. Applicants
must have the right to legally work in the United States.
