We all know that with Royal Rife crackpots, the elevator does not to
to the top floor, and this is simply an example. I suppose that this
was posted to improve credibility the Rife machine promoter and
website owner (who sells these quack devices). Still, why post an
image of a check with containing both the bank routing number and
account number?

The home page is this rather 'entertaining' site is:

Curious, to say the least. Can anyone being sufficiently ignorant in
2008 to take this but of snake oil seriously. Still, evidently some
do.

Seriously guys and gals, this website is a great read if you enjoy
quackpot ideas.

http://www.ioncleansedetoxfootbath.com/rifemachine.htm

Check on some of the ridiculous nonsense whose links appear on the
left side of the page.

On of my particularl favorite was the, not the quack machines being
sold, but on the subject of "PH Balance" (sic), which is intended to
sell you a quack book and a litmus paper test kit. The site proclaims:
"If you have a health problem, most likely you are acidic."

Think about how you might use that test kit. Most likely you will be
instructed to take a bit of saliva from your mouth and test it with
litmus paper, and of course if you haven't momentarily before taken an
a heartbun medication, it will tell you that your body is acidic,
which is of course quite normal unless you test the mouth of a corpse.
Your digestive track will not function properly unless is is acidic,
and this is precisely why our bodys produce HCl, hydrochloric acid,
without which you will shortly afterward die.

Now there are a number of chronic conditions that can produce acidosis
or alkadosis, which refer to the pH o the blood stream, but you will
be hard pressed to measure either of these conditions using the litmus
paper test kit being sold by this quack. Both of these conditions are
created by life style (excessive alcohol consumption) and
hypterventillation, not diet per se. Lack of sufficient animal protein
in the diet is also suspect to be a cause.

Still, while some of us enjoy these claims for their humor content, I
is sad to realize that there are people living in 2008 with computer
access, that accept such ridiculous clams as being fact. I must assume
that many of these unfortunate people have never really learned to
access the fantastic amount of factual information available by simply
using Google or another search engine.
