My "lab" is just a couple of folding tables in my home office. When I
need to anti-static myself, I have to search for some exposed metal on
a grounded PC or bare power supply, but there must be an easier way.
For discharging static buildup, can I just put metal foil tape (say,
aluminum duct tape) along the edge of the table, and ground that?
Will any old metal tape do, or are there special tapes for this
purpose?
Also, is there such a thing as conductive anti-static paint I can
paint these tables with? (assuming it's grounded somehow)
If you can't tell, I'm looking for a 90% solution for when I forget
the wrist strap.

You could place an antistatic mat on the table.

'Anti Static' spray is just a dilute solution of dish washing detergent. |
