Unless something radical has changed, there is no clinical component to
the Nationals.
You may be referring to the regional or state license exams, which
still have clinical parts.
You are of no use to a student taking one of these tests unless you
have a particular clinical need, and unless you can work something out
on the outside you will only get that particular need satisfied during
the exam (eg: one inlay, one denture, one scaling). In my day there was
no clinical endodontic procedure.
Of course things have changed, but in my day I was able to get all my
clinical subjects among either patients registered as my patients in
dental school, patients from my residency (which I had begun), and my
long-suffering mother.
My perio patient apparently went on a bender the night before the exam
and showed up 1 1/2 hours late. Fortunately I was able to use a backup
patient from another student--the patient was a second-year dental student.
I think this is unlikely in the extreme to be your path to riches and
good teeth.
