A friend of mine pointed out that his coworkers, my mom, and I have a
tendency in sentences without a clear focus to place heavy emphasis on
the verb. He says that most people he interacts with don't do that.
Does anyone know what gives people this tendency?
Thanks a lot,

Examples?
Also, as much sociolinguistic information as you're willing to share,
please! |
